Ingredients Needed For 4th of July Almond Brownie Cake
I’ll be honest, the ingredient list for this recipe is fairly long. Reason being is we’re creating a blended almond topping with red, white, & blue M&Ms. If you’re gluten-free, make sure you’re using gluten-free flour. This ensures your recipe is gluten-free!
Another note about the ingredients, make sure you use two full eggs and one egg yolk. Drain the egg whites and just include the yolk. This ensure the texture is perfect!

- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 12 tablespoons unsalted butter (equivalent to 3/4 cup)
- 1 1/2 cup sugar (split into 1 cup and 1/2 cup)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs

- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (I prefer dark chocolate chunks)

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! We use gluten-free flour and no other ingredients contain gluten. If you decide to add any ingredients, be sure to double check the ingredients!
I put the blended almonds on top of the brownie batter after cooking for 20 minutes. This allows the almonds to bake without burning them. Only apply a light layer to the top to avoid almond crumbs everywhere!
If you enjoy crispy almonds, you can add the blended almonds to the top of your brownie batter before putting it in the oven. This will bake your almonds into the batter.
I’d suggest dark chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips. This ensures you’re not overloading the sweetness in this recipe.
