What Makes A Good Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Banana Muffin?
I’ll be honest, I’m extremely picky and critical when it comes to my muffin making, especially with my gluten-free chocolate chip banana muffin recipe. To me, a good muffin is:
- Golden brown on the outside. Not overcooked, just enough to feel the texture.
- Soft and warm on the inside. When I break it open I want to see the steam!
- Completely mixed. I DO NOT like chunks of banana in my muffins.
- Contains chocolate… of course.
With that being said, let’s get into the best gluten-free chocolate chip banana muffin recipe you’ve ever seen.

The Story of This Recipe
I’ll let you in on a little secret… I NEVER eat all the bananas I get at the store. They become too ripe and not enjoyable. For that reason, I learned to repurpose those ripe bananas so they didn’t go to waste. From there, my gluten-free chocolate chip banana muffin recipe was born.
This was the first recipe I learned and mastered in my baking journey. Through trial and error, I’ve mastered the combination of chocolate and banana in the form of a muffin. Let me tell you, these muffins never go to waste.
My husband counts down the days until the bananas become too ripe to eat, knowing that banana muffins are on the horizon. When he smells the delicious muffins in the oven, he quickly lingers in the kitchen until they’re ready to eat. All 14 muffins are then eaten in one sitting… They never stand a chance.
If you’re like me and have a significant other who enjoys fresh baking, this is a great recipe to try. The combination of health and chocolate makes for a great grab-and-go snack, or a meal if you live in my household.

How To Store Gluten-Free Banana Muffins
These muffins are extremely easy to store and are delicious the next day. To store your leftover muffins (if there are any…), simply seal them in a Ziplock bag or place them in a cake stand. Ensure there is no air coming in to avoid them from getting stale.
QUICK TIP: If you enjoy a moist muffin the next day, seal the leftovers while they’re still hot out of the oven. This will trap the steam in the Ziplock bag and give your muffins a soft texture the next day.
